Apple has been astonishingly busy this year, selling record numbers of iPhones, finishing the largest flying saucer seen since Close Encounters of the Third Kind, releasing the HomePod into the wild (and the HomePod really is wild), and releasing or preparing for release operating updates for the Macintosh, iPhone, iPad, HomePod, Apple TV, Apple Watch —and we've our quota for mixed capitalization nouns in one sentence.
Oh, yeah: Apple also became the first U.S. company with a valuation in excess of a trillion dollars. You could buy 400 million of the original 128K Macintosh computers with that kind of money, at the original list price. Or 2 1/2 billion iPad mini 4 tablets, or a ridiculous number of iTunes gift cards.
If all goes according to plan, we will hear about Apple's latest foray into the education market, their release of the first computers with Intel's new Core i9 processor, but nothing at all about their new super-secret flying Apple Car, because we aren't supposed to know about that.
We will also have our internationally-acclaimed Question and Answer session, performed live, without a script but with (occasionally) a microphone. And an answer.
The Mobile Lifestyle SIG will meet after lunch.
We will not be able to stream this meeting. Sorry about that.
