Let's start off with a little background information. Interest in a new programming special interest group arose out of a discussion in the Programming Languages forum on the TCS. A few people expressed their interest in Cocoa programming. Some had experience with Cocoa, Objective-C, Java, etc and some did not but we all wanted to know more.
Aaron Hillegass has written a well respected book aimed at people with some programming background who want to learn to program in Cocoa. The new Programming SIG plans to use that text as the basis for a group learning activity. We'll read the book and do the activities in parallel, meeting every month or so in person and more frequently on the Pi's TCS to teach each other Cocoa.
Is the Programming SIG going to limited to just that activity? There's no reason it has to be! If you have another idea please feel free to talk about it at the meeting.
